In addition, Vital Rail has developed a consultancy arm of the business specializing in Asset Management for the Rail industry. At present we have a team of highly motivated personnel advising and working with a number of key Rail clients within the UK and overseas.
In December 2001, Vital Rail’s project delivery capacity was strengthened by the acquisition of Cornwall based Trackrail UK Ltd., a development further enhanced by the award of its Railway Safety Case in 2004, and Contractor Assurance Case in January 2005. Vital Rail has invested heavily in plant and equipment, particularly the highly specialised mobile flash butt welding machinery, and the latest Automatic Track Warning Systems (Autoprowa)
To mobilise our staff and machinery we now operate a large fleet in excess of 200 vehicles customised for rail contracting, and each is fitted with a tracking device which can be monitored in real time.
Training continues to be a high priority and Vital Rail provides safety and technical training and assessment from its own internal RTAS and NVQ accredited training company, Vital Skills Training Limited.
Vital Rail’s SQE Department, under the control of the SQE Director, provides a 24 hour, 7 days per week, 365 days per year monitoring regime to the company’s site operations, and Vital Rail has one of the lowest AFR in the UK rail industry.
An effective and focused organisation, Vital Rail provides a high quality, reliable service, combined with excellent standards of safety. Vital Rail’s infrastructure is designed to give its clients the flexible support and additional capacity necessary to meet a varied work programme.
